"Hunting follows the ancient Nordic tradition for hunting with a dog. The dog finds and holds the moose at bay while barking continually, and the hunter and guide locate the dog by its barking and thereby stalk the moose. It is an exciting type of hunting only experienced by a few people. Hunting takes place from sunrise to one hour before sunset. A lunch is eaten in the forest. Three days hunting will most likely result in one to three moose being taken. You may count on seeing moose every day."
The cost of one of these hunts booked through Dianna Hunting Tours is 2,516 Euros, plus a bull moose trophy fee of 240 Euros per point. If you go on one of these so-called jamthund hunts, be sure and file a report so the rest of us will know how it went.
