The Brumleys were all outstanding people who gave generously to their communities. The George Brumleys (Jr., III and IV) were all hunters, too. Our Hunt Report files contain reports from the father, as well as from George, III. They reported on successful hunts in Alberta with Jim Shockey and in New Zealand with Shane Quinn. Reading the reports of happier days compounds the sense of loss. Our heart goes out to those surviving members of the Brumley clan and their many friends.

The air accident that took so many lives occurred around 4:30 this past July 19 when the Fairchild SW-4 aircraft the Brumleys were in crashed into the side of Mount Kenya. The plane, which was reportedly circling Mount Kenya on its way to Samburu South, was operated by a well-known charter firm in Johannesburg, South Africa, that has been written up in the pages of The Hunting Report - namely, Air 2000. We contacted that firm shortly after the crash and spoke with a representative who expressed her profound condolences to the family.
