If you are a North American and you have long wanted to hunt in Germany and learn about this country's famous hunting traditions, I have just heard of a way to do that. Seems the famous German hunting agency, Kettner Jagdreisen, has made arrangements with a local hunting authority in Thüringen to acquire German hunting licenses for visiting hunters. All one has to do is send Kettner Jagdreisen a copy of one's local hunting license. Kettner Jagdreisen will then provide a German hunting license. The hunts on offer include driven hunts for wild boar, red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, mouflon sheep, as well as traditional high-stand hunts for wild boar, red deer and roe deer. High-stand hunting starts in May and ends in January. Driven hunts normally take place from October to November. All the areas belong to the German government. The cost for the hunts is reasonable and depends on what you shoot.
