Beware Of Hunts In IranPublished: February - 2003 Beware of hunts in Iran. That's our advice if you are an American citizen, as the US Treasury Department has air-tight sanctions in place that make it illegal for Americans to do any kind of business in that country. What occasions this re-mention of an old story are continuing reports that US and overseas agents are offering hunts in Iran to American citizens, and that some Americans are actually going there. There is even a prominent web site (www.iransafari.com) that promotes hunts in Iran without mentioning the possible consequences for Americans. Here at The Hunting Report, we aren't wimps about hunting in dangerous places, and danger has nothing to do with our warning to stay out of Iran. What we're concerned about is your legal well-being. Rightly or wrongly, the US has serious bones to pick with Iran, and they relate to the war on terrorism. You can get in a l-o-t of trouble as an American if you go to Iran.
