Ameri-cana Expeditions. This is a family-owned operation established in 1985 and run by Pat Frederick, with sons Nick and Dan. In all, there are four full time staff members and 12 part-timers. Office hours are 8 am - 5 pm, Mountain Standard Time, Monday through Friday. The company publishes a general catalog about 20 pages long with full color photos, plus multiple, more detailed brochures on the different hunts and destinations it offers. In 2003, Ameri-cana Expeditions is attending conventions for the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep (FNAWS), January 22-25, 2003 in Reno, Nevada; Safari Club International (SCI), January 29-February 1, 2003, in Reno, Nevada; the Shot Show, February 13-16, 2003, in Orlando, Florida; and Eastern FNAWS, February 27 - March 2, 2003, in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The company books trips worldwide. Its North American hunts are in Western Canada and include Arctic hunts for polar bears, muskox, caribou and walrus. Their international hunts include Russia, Africa, Middle Asia, Asia and Iran, with a concentration on argali and ibex in the Asian and Eastern destinations. Nick and Dan Frederick have also worked as hunting guides/outfitters, and the agency owns and operates a waterfowl and big game hunting lodge in Central Alberta where they hunt for whitetails, mule deer and moose.
BC Outfitters Consultant. This company is fully owned and operated by Brent Chapman, who worked as a guide in northern British Columbia for two years prior to starting his booking agency and says he knows what hunters expect. In all, the company has a total of three staff members. Chapman says office hours are 24/7, as the office is located in his home and he has numerous overseas clients who must reach him at various hours of the day or night. BC Outfitters Consultant has been in operation for 13 years, and about 60 percent of its clients are from the US, with the balance coming from abroad, mainly Norway, Germany, Austria and Spain. The company publishes a 22-page catalog in full color with photos, providing a sample of the destinations/hunts offered. Individual brochures/flyers with more detailed information are available.
