In Germany and Austria there are, in all, about 30 different full-time booking agencies. Most of these agencies earn a commission from the outfitters, plus most of them charge a booking fee, or handling fee, that averages about 150 Euro (the Euro is currently worth about $1 US) per client. Very few of them actually own hunting concessions, or work as outfitters. Moreover, most of them sell only hunting trips, not rifles, ammo or clothes. The notable exception is Kettner Jagdreisen, one of the larger agents in this part of the world. That firm is related to the Kettner Groupe, a warehouse for hunting and outdoor articles. Still, the booking agency itself, Kettner Jagdreisen, does not sell clothes or hunting equipment. The biggest agents are Diana Hunting Tours, Westfalia Jagdreisen, Kettner Jagdreisen, Dr. Lechner Profi Jagdreisen, Mistral Jagdreisen and Jagd & Tour. These agents offer hunts and safaris all over the world. In addition, there some smaller agents in these two countries that specialize in a particular continent, or country - for example, CS-Jagdkontor specializes in trips to Africa. Following is a list of some of the top agents in the German and Austrian market with their contact information and some basic information about them. Diana Hunting Tours. Anders Hillerup owns most of the company and Henrik Moeller is the managing director. In all, there are 28 staff members. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm. The company publishes a 120-page catalogue in Danish, English, German, Finnish and Swedish. Company representatives can conduct business in English, German, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian. While Diana Hunting Tours has some experience booking hunts for American clients, most of their business comes from Europe. In 2003, the company will be attending the SCI Convention in Reno, Nevada; the "Jagd & Hund" hunting show in Dortmund, Germany; and another show in Elmia, Sweden. The company books trips to destinations worldwide, but specializes in Continental Europe, Great Britain and Africa.
