If you are planning a safari to
Cameroon be aware that the
Cameroon Embassy in Washington, D.C., is currently refusing to process any gun import permits for US citizens. The reason they are giving is "security concerns" but no other details. They told one operator that they will "maybe" start to issue them in the next month but not now. Making matters worse, they are cashing hunters' checks to process gun import permits ($650) and refusing to provide refunds. Some hunters have also been denied visas; their safaris are booked and airfare paid, but they cannot get into Cameroon. At least one
Hunting Report subscriber has reported this exact problem.
