Anyone who hunted Ethiopia this past season may have noticed a lag in getting their trophies. I received word from Fred Duckworth of Duckworth Safaris International (011-31-486-41-40-50; international33@kpnplanet.nl) that there have been significant delays in trophy shipments, in some cases up to 10 months. The delays, he said, were caused by problems with "administrative documentation," otherwise known as bureaucracy . . . Of course one government agency is blaming another. Some trophies, I hear, have arrived in bad condition, at least partly due to these delays. And a number of outfitters have spent many hours, both in-country and long-distance, trying to get trophies processed for export and onto an out-bound plane.
