Last month I told you that Zambia was reallocating hunting concessions for 2013. The tendering process closed in mid-November, with more than 60 applications accepted for 21 concessions. At this writing, the new allocations had not been announced, but they may have been by the time you read this. As soon as they are, I will issue an Email Extra bulletin and print them in the following issue of The Hunting Report. It is possible, however, that the announcement will not be made until the Dallas Safari Club convention in early January or later.
What you should be prepared for, no matter who gets what concession, is a significant jump in prices. That's because of increased concession fees and a hike in government trophy fees and other costs. Plus, operators are required to pay for 70 percent of their quotas up front.....
