Subscriber Walter Broich has checked in with a report on a very affordable October sika deer hunt in
Ireland. He hunted in the hills of County Wicklow near the village of Hacketstown in County Carlow, about an hour and a half south of Dublin airport. His hunt was conducted by Norman Mulvany of
Irish Safaris and booked through Ted Shogren of the Minneapolis agency
Sporting Trader Worldwide Safaris (612-203-7799).
"The hunt was for Japanese sika deer on several properties totaling probably 7 or 8,000 acres. These deer were first imported to Ireland in the 1860s and released on an estate in County Wicklow. The Irish outfitter is Norman Mulvany, a great guy, very hard-working, very deserving.....
