I now have a second hunter report on a Liberia hunting safari with Steve Kobrine
. You'll recall his first client, Hunting Report
subscriber Tom Hammond
, injured his back and was unable to hunt properly but had wonderful things to say about Kobrine's area and operation there. Subscriber J. Alain Smith called me while he was hunting in Russia to tell me about his safari to Liberia.
He hunted with Kobrine from late August to mid-September and took several species over 16 days. He shot a water chevrotain right at the start and says he saw several others throughout the hunt. He also took a Maxwell duiker, which he says is probably the most common species in Kobrine's area, as he saw them every day. His bag also included a bay duiker, and he says he had a shot at an Ogilvie's duiker but failed to connect.....
