If you are still looking for hunts for the coming fall and winter, and want to stick to North America, we have three fresh reports on predator hunting opportunities in western
Canada.
Subscriber Don Detwiler reports on a partially-successful hunt and successful return hunt for wolf, cougar and bobcat in southern
British Columbia with Steven Leuenberger's
Ram Creek Outfitters (877-726-2735). He booked his hunt through
International Outdoor Consultants (406-363-0883). We've had three positive reports on this outfitter in the past (see Reports
3865,
2581 and
1623 in our database), dating back to 2000, with the most recent for a Shiras moose hunt.
Detwiler says he began his hunt in early December of last year and managed to take a wolf, but due to poor snow conditions struck out on cats (he was seeking cougar, lynx and bobcat). He returned in February when snow conditions were better and proceeded to take a second wolf on day one, a bobcat on day two and a cougar on day three. Deep snow in the mountains prevented him from taking a lynx.
