In
Central African Republic, safari operator Eric Marav of CAWA, (
Central African Wildlife Adventures) and pilot David Simpson have been arrested in connection to the brutal murder of at least 13 people. Simpson was among a group of CAWA employees this past March who stumbled upon a grizzly scene of 13 (some accounts say 18) locals that had been beaten and hacked up in the bush. After reporting the incident, Marav and Simpson were accused of murder and taken into custody. At press time, both had been in a Bangui prison for more than a month. Other staff members were accused and imprisoned as well.
A special judge was appointed to assess the evidence and recommend further action, which could be to proceed with a trial......
