Botswana, at press time, operators were still waiting to hear about hunting quotas for 2012. The ones I spoke with were hoping for or even expecting an increase in quota for elephant. Quota for other species in controlled hunting areas were doubtful. You'll recall I warned you last year (see the February 2011 issue) that Botswana was basically becoming a one-species destination. Unless you are hunting on a private ranch, opportunities for anything but jumbo are likely to continue decreasing.....
