There's more bad news this month for hunters hoping to hunt
Iran. We warned you last month about problems with permit cuts and a change in the way permits are issued to foreign hunters. We've now confirmed that permits have been cut by as much as 60 percent. Also, we've learned that the directive that permits be issued at the regional level has allowed the personal preferences and agendas of some 60 regional directors to interfere with hunting programs. Even without the injection of personalities, having never been involved in issuing nonresident hunting permits, the directors are confused and untrained in the details of the permitting process. Inside sources tell us chaos reigns.
Other directors with an anti-hunting bias have closed their reserves, including some prime hunting areas, further reducing the number of permits available. Hunting for Laristan sheep has been closed altogether.....
