Long-time subscribers will remember a series of reports we published from 2002-2005 on the reopening of hunting in Congo-Kinshasa (former Zaire) by operator George Angelides. Congo-Kinshasa is also called the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and lies across the Congo River from Congo-Brazaville, Republic of the Congo. What occasions this re-mentioning of DRC is a recent email I received from Angelides in which he tells me he is still kicking around DRC and hoping to get hunters and anglers on some trips. He writes:
"I am still registered in the DRC and did open the hunting. Since I recce'd the center and south, mainly along the Angola border, and found no viable hunting except for a very few species, I finally ended up North on the CAR and Sudan borders with excellent results! First, hardly any human habitation.....
