Subscriber Bob Rushmore tells us that a June hog hunt in Texas with Pete Ray of Hog Hunting Texas was so much fun that he and his wife stayed an extra day and can’t wait to go back. “The animals were everywhere, and you can shoot all you want,” he says. Between them they took six hogs and could have shot many more. Rushmore took one 250-pound boar.
They hunted two different areas of the 18,000 acres that Pete Ray hunts in south Texas. Several different ranches near Pearsall, about 60 miles south of San Antonio, make up the hunting area. The first hunt was on a 2,600-acre pasture-like area with free-range hogs. The second area was 400 acres and fenced.....
