Subscriber Weldon Edwards is happy with a bear hunt behind dogs in California this past October/November with Andrew Gregory of Deadwood Industries. Edwards says he first read about this hunt for color-phase bears in The Hunting Report (see Article ID 2212) and called Gregory to learn more about the hunt. Edwards has breathing issues that make him physically unable to do some hunts, but he says Gregory thought he could get him a bear in fairly easy country. Edwards says Gregory tailored the hunt to his needs, and after hunting a couple of days, Gregory’s dogs treed a bear in an area Edwards could easily walk in. He says he killed a beautiful cinnamon bear with a white belly....
