I have reported in the past on Sean Lingl of Canadian Guide Outfitters. Now, Lingl has announced two new opportunities for the upcoming season. However, before I get into his new hunts, here is a brief update on his operation on Vancouver Island, where he has hunted Roosevelt elk and coastal black bear for over 20 years.
Lingl’s guide area covers close to 3,000 square miles and includes one of the few archery Roosevelt elk areas on the island. In fact, Lingl has produced a number of top-ranking bulls in the P&Y book for his clients. He also has some great spring bear hunting. His area touches a part of the west coast of the island and extends to the east coast as well.
Lingl’s island hunters stay at his beautiful lodge in Port Alberni or at a resort in Bamfield on the west coast, depending on where they are hunting. Base price for Lingl’s 14-day, 1x1 archery elk hunts is $13,500, plus a harvest fee of $8,000. The always-popular bear hunts (both archery and rifle) are priced at $5,900 for a five-day hunt. He still has a few openings on both of these hunts for 2012. All of his hunts are priced in US dollars and a 50 percent non-refundable deposit is due at the time of the booking.
Now for those new announcements from Lingl. The first is that he recently took control of an area on the mainland in the northwestern corner of BC. This area is located a mere 150 miles from the Yukon border, with its western border only 50 miles from Alaska. As you would expect, this area is rich with game and has produced some exceptional moose, goats and grizzlies, as well as Stone rams....
