Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont are all easily accessible from anywhere in the world via Logan International Airport in Boston.  The other advantage of these northeastern US hunts is you can hunt with a rifle (or even a slug-loaded smoothbore), bow or handgun. Handguns are forbidden in Canada, so the only place you can take an Eastern Canada moose with a handgun is in the northeastern US.

 Make no mistake about it; there are some very big moose available. Back in November, 2010 we told our E-mail Extra subscribers about an all-time state record Eastern Canada moose that hit the ground in New Hampshire on October 20. The hunter was Jack Middleton. The bull carried 25 scorable points, including a big drop tine, and a spread of 68.5 inches, which beat the old state record by a full half inch.
