Last year we published a series of reports on the meltdown of booking agency San Miguel Outdoors, owned and operated by Michael Gardner. Continuing subscribers will remember that the Austin, Texas-based agency suddenly ceased operations without warning in June 2009. A number of hunters complained that payments made over the previous year were never forwarded to their outfitters. On the other side, operators around the world reported being stiffed thousands of dollars. A police investigation was launched due to complaints alleging misappropriation of funds. Several lawsuits were underway or pending. Finally, in October 2009 a number of operators and hunters reported that Gardner had made good on his commitments to them. We are reminding you of all this because we just learned that Gardner is back in business selling hunts.....
