Congratulations are in order for Pam Zaitz, who took a desert bighorn in Mexico that may just be the new muzzleloader world record. Take a moment to check out the photo of Zaitz’s ram on our online Trophy Gallery. This ram green-scored 179 SCI and is awaiting final scoring but is expected to nudge out the current SCI World Record of 177 2/8. You’ll note an unusual bump on the ram’s nose, when you see the photo. That is an abscess caused by a 1¼-inch thorn embedded in the animal’s nostril. Zaitz is, by the way, the founder, president and occasional model of SHE Safari, which designs and manufactures women-specific hunting apparel.
