New World Record Mountain Goat Taken

A possible new world record Pope & Young mountain goat has been taken in northwestern British Columbia. The goat scored 54 2/8 inches, which beats out the current Number One of 53 inches. The lucky hunter who bagged this exceptional trophy is Tim Metcalfe, who was hunting with Golden Bear Outfitting (www.goldenbearoutfitting.com) in the Telegraph Creek – Stikine River area. A second hunter named Bob Schermer also took a trophy goat on this same hunt with a score of 53 6/8. (See photos in the Trophy Gallery section of our web site.) What’s even more remarkable about two Pope & Young trophies being taken back-to-back is that this season was outfitter Greg Williams’ very first in this concession.....
