The good news this month is safaris to Zimbabwe are continuing to go forward without trouble as this is written. We are processing a single new subscriber complaint about a safari to this country, but it turns upon issues other than security, which is what most hunters are concerned about at this point. Typical of the reports we are receiving is the following one we received in April from Mike Streetman. It is not as recent as some of the others we have gotten, but it does not differ in tone or substance from all of the reports that have come in:
“Just a note to inform you that I returned yesterday from 19 days in Zimbabwe. I flew into Harare, where I spent two days with my PH and his family. We then traveled to the Save Valley Conservancy for four days before driving on to Mahenya, the communal area bordering Gonarez- hou National Park, to hunt elephant. We went through a few road blocks coming and going but were either waved through or experienced a friendly conversation with police or military. The mood in the areas I visited was ‘business as usual.’ I sensed an anxious but hopeful mood in the people I met......
