Remember our report in the December 2007 issue about a guide in Maine who hunts bears behind dogs? Well, subscriber Ken Womack says he has also hunted black bears this way but with a guide in California. His name is Bob Johnson, and his operation is called Bob Johnson’s Guide Service (530-283-9174). He operates in northeastern California near the Nevada border out of a town called Quincy. Womack says Johnson has a 20-plus-year history of successfully guiding bear and bobcat hunts in this area.....
