In Tanzania, we have received word that the stalemate over fees has been resolved. The stalemate, you’ll recall, began when the Tanzanian Government drastically increased block and trophy fees on the eve of the 2007 hunting season. Concession fees were quadrupled or quintupled in some cases, and trophy fees for animals such as elephant, lion and leopard shot up by as much as $10,000. All of this occurred after some hunters were already in the field ready to go hunting.....
