on a mission to collect both a cock and hen capercaillie, cock and hen
black grouse, and a hazel grouse rooster. "I got all the birds I was
looking for. Both guides, Samuel Jakoby and Jonas Berg, did a great job!
A perfect no-stress hunt. No problems at all!
will pick you up at the train station in Mora and drive you to camp
(about one hour). Sam's hunts are normally five days, but I booked two
days extra and was very happy with that decision. Rental weapons (.222
Remington and shotguns) are included in the hunt price, so you travel
without guns. Most birds are shot with the small caliber rifle. Samuel
has an over/under rifle with 12 gauge and .222 Remington barrels and a
12-gauge double shotgun. He always carried the over/under rifle; I had
the shotgun. Be prepared to shoot up to 200 yards. I am glad there was
no wingshooting, as I am totally useless with a shotgun! I was a sniper
in the army and prefer a rifle....
