J. Bloomer filed a report (10994
on a successful water buffalo hunt in the Northern Territory of
Australia in Aug. Bloomer hunted the Walker River area with guide and
outfitter Simon Kyle-Little of Australian Big Game Safaris, booking

I wanted to do a buffalo hunt I contacted Atcheson and Sons. They have
always been very dependable for me, and Jack Jr. organized this trip.
Because they have a relationship with Australian Big Game Safaris, I was
happy to go there and didn't look for other options. The hunting fees
came to about $14,500, plus about $2,000 for the round-trip charter
flight from Darwin. I saved a little money on that because of some other
hunters flying in at the end of my hunt. Going with a group would cut
the cost on the charters. The hunt is a bit expensive for a single
buffalo, but the area is excellent, and Kyle-Little is a knowledgeable
guide in top condition.
"The concession is
huge, most of it flat, with vegetation ranging from thick to mostly
open. The camp is about 10 miles inland from the Gulf of Carpenteria. We
saw water buffalo in every area we drove, with many trophy bulls....
