On May 23, 2017, Billy A. Busbice Jr. of Olla, Louisiana, appeared before Lincoln County (Wyoming) Circuit Court Judge Frank Zebre and pled guilty to charges of intentionally allowing an antlerless elk to go to waste and an additional charge of taking an elk without the proper license. Busbice stars on Wildgame Nation
on the Outdoor Channel and also owns an outdoor products company.
According to a press release
issued by Wyoming Fish and Game, the case started when game warden Chris Baird received a report from a group of hunters who observed a possible wildlife violation on Spring Creek Ranch, which is owned by Busbice. The hunters observed a man hunting on the ranch, while another man appeared to be filming the hunt. They watched the hunter shoot one elk and then shoot a bull that rough scored 350 inches. The hunter and the cameraman looked at the bull and then left the area.
Another man field dressed the bull and hauled it away. The first elk, later determined to be a bull calf, was left in the meadow....
