A November report about some difficulties regarding product quality and customer service with Leica binoculars elicited a second report about erratic customer service from that company. Following up on that second report, we found that Leica had already stepped up and resolved the issues for both subscribers. We published that in our Mar. issue and asked for additional feedback, which prompted this report from subscriber M. Stevens:
"In the latest issue of The Hunting Report
, there was some controversy about Leica. Here's my experience: I have several Leica products, no problems whatsoever regarding their quality. Last fall I dropped my Geovid 10 x 42 binos on a concrete floor and slightly bent one eyepiece. I contacted their warranty department. They asked a few questions and emailed me a prepaid shipping label that same day. I shipped them off, received them back two weeks later, no charges for anything. That's far better service than I have had with some other optical products!"
Shortly after we heard from Stevens, we also heard from Wilson Stout, who told us he had problems with the latest Leica rangefinder binoculars....
