, subscriber Dick Caruthers filed a report (9701
) on a safari he did this past February/March with Eric Mararv's Central African Wildlife Adventures, booking agent Jeff C. Neal Inc. (http://www.jeffcnealinc.com/
; 918-299-3580). Caruthers' primary species were bongo, which he took and says were abundant, and buffalo and eland, both of which he failed to take. He managed to collect red duiker, red-flanked duiker and civet, plus harnessed bushbuck, which he says were scarce. Caruthers says there is a lot of poaching here, turning the buffalo nocturnal. During his entire hunt he did not see a single eland. His hunting companions did not get eland either. In fact, he says he did not see many animals at all, although the ones he did see were quality trophies.
As for Mararv's organization, he says they are honest, ethical and nice people, a good outfit overall and that he would recommend them to fellow hunters.......
