We've gotten word that Sandy River Lodge in Alaska
has recently been acquired by Aleutian Pribilof Island Community Development Association (APICDA) and will be operated by its tourism division, Aleutian Adventures (http://www.aleutianadventures.com/
; 888-430-8329). Sandy River Lodge is located at the far end of the Alaska Peninsula on a world-class salmon fishery, and also offers hunting for Alaska brown bear, moose and ptarmigan.
You may remember Aleutian Adventures from a report by Editor Barbara Crown, who had a true adventure hunt on Atka Island for reindeer. That hunt was unfortunately cut short by a 4X4 accident (see Article 2542
in our Email Extra Database) but she went back a month later to their operation on Umnak Island and killed a dandy reindeer.
