Back in our September 2013 issue we reported on the status of moose across the Lower 48 (read that article here
), where states including Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and New Hampshire have seen declining moose populations and correspondingly fewer hunting opportunities over the last few years. A few key states have tallied their harvest numbers from 2013 and some have already set quotas for the 2014 season. Unfortunately it looks as though 2014 is going to mean even fewer permits in most areas of the country.
