Those hunting safaris to Guinea
I told you about in the August issue
are on hold, according to Srdja Dimitrijevic of Safari International (011-34-67-1213205; firstname.lastname@example.org
). Dimitrijevic was introducing some trial hunts there. At the time, he was very optimistic about the hunting potential, reporting the Sabouya area he had visited held good populations of forest buffalo, bushbuck, oribi, giant forest hog, various duikers and more. He was working with a Venezuelan expat named Carlos Corces, who supposedly had worked as a professional hunter for an Austrian operator there and has lived in Guinea for the past 10 years.
Well, I have received a first-hand report from a subscriber who hunted the Sabouya area in Guinea this past November and it is not at all positive. I learned of his visit there from a third party and contacted him about his experience.....
