We have three fresh reports on different hunts in Texas
with Greg Simons of Wildlife Systems
(325-655-0877). The first is from subscriber Don Sangster (Report 9450
), who gives a thumbs up to a November whitetail deer hunt with personal guide Ruben Fernandez. He hunted the S and Scrub Oak ranches near San Angelo in the west central part of the state. "I saw more bucks in the first day of hunting than I've probably seen in all my previous deer-hunting days put together," says Sangster.
"We rattled in 10 bucks the first day, and that was a blast. The deer are not big-bodied, which can make the racks look bigger than they are. I was a bit surprised that the nice eight-pointer I shot only scored 120-plus, but that didn't matter to me, anyway.....
