In our December issue
we excerpted complaints we had received from subscribers Tony Rathbone (9405
) and Mel Toponce (9404
) about Eric Rose's sika deer cull/hunting operation on Japan's Hokkaido Island. Since then, we have received yet more feedback from subscriber Terry Betteridge who hunted at the same time as Toponce.
Betteridge forwarded us a string of email correspondence to Eric Rose, in which he said, in part:
"I honestly don't know what The Hunting Report
thinks [Editor's Note: Betteridge is responding to Rose accusing The Hunting Report of pre-judging him and his operation], but I do know Mel was shorted on the hunt. He's 82 and a little fragile, so he needed heat, food, a guide, basic services and honestly, there were none. The blinds he thought he'd have, he didn't.....
