Continuing subscribers should recall our recent coverage of those archery-only sika deer "cull" hunts in Japan
. It started as we were preparing our April, 2013 issue for press. At the last possible instant, we received an email and photos from subscriber Mario Nobili detailing his successful hunt with Eric Rose. We printed the limited information we had at the time (Article 3063
) and promised to follow up. We then contacted Rose with a number of questions. We printed his replies in our May issue (Article 3092
), along with some additional comments from Nobili on the accommodations for his hunt. At that point, we felt comfortable passing on the information about this emerging opportunity to our subscribers, knowing that, while it wouldn't be right for everyone, some subscribers might be very interested......
