This is a historic ranch that has been in the Bishop family for over 100 years, in country where Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid once roamed. The ranch itself received a Private Landowner of the Year Award in 2000 from the state of Wyoming. The award recognizes good stewardship and conservation of wildlife habitat. My wife and I did a lot of research to decide how best to use her Wyoming preference points in the lottery, and eventually we settled on the Bishop Ranch. This area is a little under the radar, but I believe that you won't find a better unit for quality and quantity of bull elk. The ranch itself is 50,000 acres on the Belle Fourche (pronounced "Foosh") River, bordered by other private lands......
