This October, subscriber Mychal Murray (9381
) traveled to the Pyrenees of southern France
to target the Pyrenean chamois with Paris-based outfitter Seladang
. He booked through Arjun Reddy at Hunters Networks
(845-259-3628). "I wanted to hunt in France for chamois to see something different," he writes in his report. "I believe American hunters overlook France as a hunting destination, and I was very impressed with all aspects of my hunt there." In a follow-up call with Murray, he described his experience as follows:
"I hunted for four days with guides Erwan de Foucher and Jean Luc Planes in the area around the township of Saillagouse in the Pyrenees. This is an excellent area. In the three days we hunted chamois I probably saw more than a 100 animals. The first two days involved a lot of hiking to get to good vantage points to glass for chamois, sometimes in very steep, rough terrain.....
