, subscriber Harold Meyers tells us he took a reindeer
that should rank number 12 in the SCI Record Book and number four in the Icelandic records. He hunted this past August with Björn Birgisson of Icelandic Hunting Club
(011-354-894-3095). In a follow-up call, Meyers says he flew into Reykjavik and then chartered to the hunting area, which was near the family farm where his guide, "Reymar," grew up. Meyers tells us Reymar is also a taxidermist who took excellent care of his trophy, and, "He knows the country like the back of his hand."
The actual hunting involved using six wheelers to access an area, spot game and glass from a high point. But, Meyers notes, this hunt was not a matter of driving up and shooting off a vehicle....
