Editor's Note: Most of us are familiar with booking a hunt through an agent who represents certain hunting opportunities rather than going directly to the outfitter or property. Less familiar is the notion of using a "concierge service," which can work with a greater variety of properties to put together a precisely-targeted package to meet the specific needs of a hunter. When we received an extremely positive report (9166) from long-time subscriber Joseph Vorro on a three-day hunt in Texas, arranged by exactly such a service, we turned it over to correspondent Michael Bodenchuk to dig deeper into the story.

While Vorro reports that he is very supportive of single ranch hunts, he noted that in his experience they sometimes lack the ability to provide the truly personalized opportunity, including selecting the quality of game sought, and he was looking for something more.
