We haven't been getting a lot of reports on tur these days, but three recently came in that, taken together, present some interesting similarities and contrasts. Let's begin with Report 9174
from long-time subscribers Stan and Pamela Atwood, who hunted tur in Azerbaijan
this past May (and have contributed 21 reports since 1998). Their trip was outfitted by Safari Outfitters
(307-587-5596), personal guide Dr. Sasha Kiseljov.
On this hunt, Stan used a 7mm rifle while Pamela used a .30 Merrill handgun. As Stan tells it, "Pamela and I were both lucky and took our rams within four days. Pamela's ram
measured (longer horn) 35 inches, while mine
measured (longer horn) 37 1/2 inches. They are both very good, old rams. We both saw a lot of tur, collectively 150 to 175, and many good, mature rams......
