If you are booked for an ibex or argali hunt in Mongolia this season, be aware of some new problems there. Two Hunting Report
subscribers contacted us when their outfitter informed them that part of their hunt was being cancelled and the cost on the other part was going up substantially - from $5,000 to $25,000!
The cancellation involved the suspension of all Gobi ibex hunts for 2013, while the increases are supposedly due to some new "regional fees." Their outfitter told them that the local governments want to add a $5,000 "local hunting tag fee" for ibex and $25,000 for argali.....
