An American hunter has taken the first sport hunted zebra duiker in Liberia in more than 10 years, along with a new SCI world record water chevrotain. Rick Warren took these special trophies hunting with Steve Kobrine Safaris
(firstname.lastname@example.org) this past November/December. I caught up with Kobrine and Warren at the Safari Club International convention in Reno this past February and chatted with them about Liberia.
You'll recall that Kobrine's first clients had a tough go, as they hunted during the wet season. (See my interviews with subscribers Tom Hammond and J. Alain Smith in the July [Article 2913

Some experienced jungle hunters I spoke with said Kobrine should never have conducted hunts during that period, but when I asked Kobrine about it, he said, "I was up front with my hunters about the conditions. We knew it would be a challenging hunt, but they wanted to be among the first in, and I wanted to get a presence established in the area." He was confident that subsequent clients would enjoy successful hunts with him going forward......
