The first crop of 2009 New Zealand trophies are beginning to appear at taxidermists as the year moves into autumn here. One huge free-range head recently arrived at the taxidermy premises of Terry and David Jacobs ( http://www.taxidermy.co.nz/). The Jacobs are not at liberty to disclose who the hunter is, but he was a first-time hunter who shot the big buck while deer-stalking.
The trophy has horns just under 12 inches in length with four-inch bases, a truly great trophy and the best David Jacobs has ever seen come through the door. The hunting location like the hunter's name is unknown.
Seeing is believing, so I have added a pic to whet the alpine appetite. Well done young fellow! - Greg Morton.
